- VERSION 1.0 Alpha 5 "What Problems?!"
-
- A URL organizer written in CodeWarrior PowerPlant
- © 1995, 96 by Noah Mittman and Jim Correia, all rights reserved.
- Portions © Metrowerks, Inc.
-
- The two buttons in the window are Get Info (on the left) and New URL
- (on the right) -- both accessable through a keyboard shortcut or through
- the menu bar. You will only need to use New URL if you want to make an
- entry from scratch within WU?!. When using a drag aware program like
- Netscape, Newswatcher, or Anarchie, you can simply drag items into
- URL?! to have them added in. When not using a drag-aware program like
- Eudora or Mosaic, you can highlight, copy, and paste the items to have
- them added in. Then use Get Info to adjust the Title that is shown
- through the window, and the Comments that remind you just what you
- liked about it.
-
- The "padlock" button on the bottom prevents new entries (either by
- command or by drop, handy if you have lots of windows and don't want
- drops to go to the wrong ones) and prevents deleting entries. It will
- however allow links' dates and hits to be updated. The red "!" you will
- occasionally see is to remind you that the window has been changed and
- should be saved.
-
- The window can be sorted on Title, Location, Date (of last launch), #
- of Hits, and Label (Labels are not implemented yet).
-
- Some user interface stuff hasn't been completed yet. This includes
- minor things like clicking in a zoom box won't resize to display
- everything inside the window. Also, having a saved window position
- offscreen (from a higher resolution screen) won't automatically move
- it back onscreen (you can manually stack it back onscreen with the stack
- windows command (thanks, Éric!)). This will all be fixed come beta
- time. Also, getting an error while opening a file results in a bunch of
- exception dialogs, not one in plain english.
-
- Requirement testing just hasn't come into play but it would be
- interesting to hear how it behaves when it's missing something. The
- '020/color requirements might make the program bug out if it can't
- find them, but hopefully most people will read the requirements list.
